Preamble

Porosh Protibondhi Unnayan Sangstha is an Organization of Persons with Disabilities (OPD) working in Rangpur district of Bangladesh. The organization was established on 03 December 2003, starting with 150 persons with disabilities with support from ADD International Bangladesh. Now, the organization has 180 members, 96 male and 84 female. The organization implements its activities, ensuring equal participation of men and women with disabilities.

According to the organization's bylaws, 180 members make up its General Committee, and 7 members make up its Executive Committee. The staff and volunteers implement the organizational activities following the directives of the General Secretary/ Executive Director. Through the direct involvement of men and women with disabilities, the organization is working to promote the rights of persons with disabilities and improve their lives with support from government and non-government organizations.
Besides, the organization strives to partner with mainstreaming organizations for Disability Inclusion in their programs by ensuring the active and meaningful participation of persons with disabilities and providing capacity-building and technical assistance.
